1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs one at a time beating
well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and
cinnamon. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and walnuts. Shape into
1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10 -
11 minutes.
